Non-tl;dr version: You cannot go wrong with eBikes USA in Denver or the Troxus Explorer.
You’ll notice that that first line sort ‘a duplicates the first line of my post about another electric bicycle. 🙂
The constant? eBikes USA! (This time a special shout-out to Chris. Thanks Chris!)
I’m going to keep this post short and have it mainly be iPhone photos…with plans to do a full review in the future.
Let’s just say I had a ball talking the red beauty from my home in Strasburg, Colorado to McDonald’s in Bennett, Colorado and back.
Of course, I had to stop at my favorite place between Strasburg and Bennett…
This is a Class 3 bike, which means throttle up to 20 MPH and pedal assist to 28 MPH. I think the pedal assist really goes up to over 30 MPH, but that’s not a complaint. 🙂
(You can also limit your top speed in the displays settings…including cutting it down to being considered a Class 2.)
This bicycle is just a joy to ride. I was worried that the cadence sensor (as compared to a torque one) would mean I wouldn’t get enough of a work-out, but I was able to get my heart in the zone I wanted for most of the time on a trek I couldn’t have enjoyed much more than I did.
Well, it’s time for dinner…so bye for now…but…if you are thinking about getting an e-bike that will allow you to safely go off-road, I’d put this one on your shortlist.
More to follow…
